Materials & hallmark
Baguette is a flat band in 18k yellow gold — 750‰, the legal minimum title of gold in France. The alloy is 75% gold, 20% copper and 5% silver, and the whole surface is worked to a mirror polish.
Because the ring weighs 3.2 g — above the 3 g threshold — it carries the eagle's head fineness punch struck inside a hexagon, together with the maker's responsibility punch. Two punches, struck in Paris, are your guarantee that the metal is what we say it is.
A flat band needs to be cut, joined, then polished in one continuous pass so the reflective surface looks seamless from every angle.
The price of the metal
Gold is quoted at 4 085.40 USD per ounce on 22 October 2026, which works out to about 87.70 € per gram of 18k gold. At that rate, the metal in your Baguette is 3.2 g × 87.70 € = 280.64 €.
The remaining 109.36 € is the making — cutting and joining the band, the mirror polish, the hallmarks, and the hours at the bench. We publish the price of the metal because we want the rest of the price to be legible too.
Care
- A mirror-polished band shows every smudge: wipe it with a soft cloth each evening and it stays bright for years.
- Wash in warm water with a drop of mild soap, then dry with a soft cloth — never a paper towel, which leaves fine scratches.
- Store it in its pouch, away from other rings, so the polish never rubs against a hammered or engraved neighbour.

Made in the Paris atelier
Baguette is made in our atelier at 14 rue de Saintonge, in the Marais — one pair of hands from the first bar of gold to the final mirror pass.
Lost-wax casting
The band is cast as a solid ring from recycled 750‰ gold using the lost-wax process, an ancient method that leaves no seam.
Joining and shaping
The flat profile is filed square and closed invisibly, so the reflective surface reads as one continuous plane of gold.
Polishing and hallmarking
The band is polished to a mirror finish, washed, and struck with the eagle's head and responsibility punches before it is checked against the weight we print.
