The alloy: 18 karat gold is 750 thousandths — 75% gold, 20% copper, 5% silver. Rose gold is the same 750‰ alloy; it is the 20% copper in it that gives the metal its pink tone, with the silver softening it.
The hallmarks: at 1.8 g, this piece falls under the 3 g French threshold that is exempt from the fineness punch. It still carries our maker's responsibility punch, which ties the piece to the atelier that made it — we say so plainly, because the mark matters more than the metal's weight.

Three gestures for rose gold
Keep it away from bleach
Rose gold owes its colour to copper. Chlorine, bleach and ammonia can darken the copper in the alloy — avoid pools and cleaning products.
Wash gently
Clean in warm water with a drop of mild soap, rinse and dry with a soft cloth. If the heart loses its glow, polish it gently with the cloth.
Store apart
Keep the heart in its own pouch, away from harder pieces, so its mirror finish stays as it left the bench.

Made in the Paris atelier
The Heart of Rose is cast, finished and polished at 14 rue de Saintonge, in the Marais — the same two hands from the first sketch to the last polish.
Lost-wax casting
The heart is cast in 750‰ rose gold using the lost-wax process, an ancient technique that still starts with a carved model.
Finishing
The heart is filed, polished to a mirror finish, and the bail is fitted so the pendant hangs straight on its chain.
Stamping and inspection
The piece is inspected and stamped with our maker's responsibility punch before it leaves the bench.
