The Lune pearl necklace: three baroque freshwater pearls spaced on a solid 18k gold chain

Necklaces · 18k gold

Lune Pearl Necklace

520 €

Three baroque freshwater pearls — each one irregular, each one different — held at uneven intervals on a solid 18k gold chain. The gold is regular and quiet; the pearls bring the variation. It is the necklace as a counterpoint: two materials, neither competing.

Materials & hallmark

18k gold, honest to the grain

The alloy: 18 karat gold is 750 thousandths — 75% gold, 20% copper, 5% silver. It is the legal minimum fineness for gold in France, and it is what the whole Lune is made of: chain, clasp and all.

The pearls: three baroque freshwater pearls, chosen one by one for their irregular shapes, so no two Lune necklaces carry identical pearls.

The hallmarks: because the Lune carries 3.5 g of gold — above the 3 g French threshold — it receives both punches: the eagle's head in a hexagon, the official 18k fineness punch, and our maker's responsibility punch, which ties the piece to the atelier that made it.

The honest price

The price of the metal

On 22 October 2026, 18k gold costs about 87.70 € per gram (gold itself trades at 4,085.40 USD per ounce). The Lune holds 3.5 g of gold — about 307 € at today's price.

The rest of the 520 € covers the fabrication: sourcing and threading the pearls, making the chain, finishing, hallmarking, and the lifetime repair service. We keep the two figures separate so you always see what you pay for metal and what you pay for the hand.

Gold prices move; the price shown when you order is the price you pay.

Care

Three gestures for gold and pearls

Dress last

Pearls are soft. Put the necklace on after perfume, hairspray and creams, so nothing harsh touches the pearls during the day.

Wipe and wash

Wipe the pearls with a soft, dry cloth after wearing. Clean the gold chain in warm water with a drop of mild soap, rinse, and dry with a soft cloth.

Store apart

Keep the Lune in its own pouch: another necklace's gold can scratch a pearl, and a stone can scratch the chain. Separate storage is the whole secret.

The atelier

Made in the Paris atelier

The Lune is finished by hand at 14 rue de Saintonge, in the Marais — the same two hands from the first sketch to the last polish.

Lost-wax casting

The chain and clasp are cast in 750‰ gold using the lost-wax process, an ancient technique that still starts with a carved model.

Pearl selection

The three baroque pearls are matched by hand, by lustre and by tone, then threaded and secured on the gold chain.

Finishing and hallmarking

The piece is polished, inspected, and stamped with the eagle's head and our maker's responsibility punch before it leaves the bench.
