Materials & hallmark
Serpentine is a solid, uncut bangle of 18k yellow gold — 750‰, the legal minimum title of gold in France. The alloy is 75% gold, 20% copper and 5% silver, which gives the hammered surface its warm, dense tone.
Because the bangle weighs 8 g — above the 3 g threshold — it carries the eagle's head fineness punch struck inside a hexagon, together with the maker's responsibility punch. Two punches, struck in Paris, are your guarantee that the metal is what we say it is.
The hammered finish is applied by hand, blow by blow, so the texture catches the light softly and never needs a hard polish to look right.
The price of the metal
Gold is quoted at 4 085.40 USD per ounce on 22 October 2026, which works out to about 87.70 € per gram of 18k gold. At that rate, the metal in your Serpentine is 8 g × 87.70 € = 701.60 €.
The remaining 188.40 € is the making — hammering the bangle by hand, the hallmarks, and the hours at the bench. We publish the price of the metal because we want the rest of the price to be legible too.
Care
- Wipe the bangle with a soft cloth after wearing — it is the piece you will knock against tables, so a weekly wipe keeps it bright.
- Wash in warm water with a drop of mild soap and dry with a soft cloth. Do not use an abrasive pad: it would flatten the hammered texture.
- Remove it before sport or heavy work. A solid bangle has no clasp to break, but a hard knock can dent the very texture that makes it beautiful.

Made in the Paris atelier
Serpentine is made in our atelier at 14 rue de Saintonge, in the Marais — one pair of hands from the first bar of gold to the final hammer blow.
Lost-wax casting
The bangle is cast as a solid ring from recycled 750‰ gold using the lost-wax process, an ancient method that leaves no seam and no joint.
Hand hammering
The surface is hammered by hand, blow by blow, until it catches the light softly. The texture is the signature of the piece.
Polishing and hallmarking
The bangle is washed, polished to a satin finish, and struck with the eagle's head and responsibility punches before it is checked against the weight we print.
