Materials & hallmark

Local Link is forged from recycled 18k yellow gold — 750‰, the legal minimum title of gold in France. The alloy is 75% gold, 20% copper and 5% silver, and the recycled metal comes back to the bench with the same pedigree as new-mined gold.

Because the bracelet weighs 7 g — above the 3 g threshold — it carries the eagle's head fineness punch struck inside a hexagon, together with the maker's responsibility punch. Two punches, struck in Paris, are your guarantee that the metal is what we say it is.

Hand-forging leaves a trace: each oval link is drawn, bent and hammered separately, so the bracelet keeps a slight, honest irregularity that a machine-made chain never has.

The price of the metal

Gold is quoted at 4 085.40 USD per ounce on 22 October 2026, which works out to about 87.70 € per gram of 18k gold. At that rate, the metal in your Local Link is 7 g × 87.70 € = 613.90 €.

The remaining 76.10 € is the making — drawing and forging every link at the bench, the clasp, the hallmarks, and the hours of hand finishing. We publish the price of the metal because we want the rest of the price to be legible too.

Care

  • Brush gently along each forged link with a soft-bristled brush and warm soapy water — never an abrasive cloth, which would erase the hammered surface.
  • Dry the bracelet with a soft cloth and let it air completely before storing, so no moisture stays between the links.
  • Do not pull the links: the hand-forged ovals are meant to hang, not to stretch. Store it flat or hanging, away from other jewellery.

Complete the set

The forged links sit well next to a ring that refuses to look polished.

Made in the Paris atelier

Local Link is made in our atelier at 14 rue de Saintonge, in the Marais — one pair of hands from the first link to the final polish.

Lost-wax casting

The links are cast from recycled 750‰ gold using the lost-wax process, an ancient method in which each link is formed from a wax original.

Hand forging

Each oval link is drawn, bent and hammered by hand — which is why no two links, and no two bracelets, are ever identical.

Polishing and hallmarking

The bracelet is finished, washed, and struck with the eagle's head and responsibility punches before it is checked against the weight we print.
